Kemolo, a manufacturer of industrial freeze-drying (lyophilization) equipment, today hosted a food-industry entrepreneur from Bangladesh for his first-ever visit to China and an on-site tour of Kemolo's manufacturing campus in Anhui. The visit marks a key milestone in a one-year technical and commercial dialogue between the two sides, and lays the groundwork for a planned freeze-dried fruit processing plant in Bangladesh in 2027.
The guest arrived at Kemolo with a clearly defined mission: to evaluate freeze-drying solutions for pineapple and mango, the two most widely consumed and commercially valuable fruits in the Bangladeshi market. What he found on site, however, exceeded his original scope.
"This is my first time in China. I had been talking with Kemolo for about a year, and I was very impressed by their equipment and their ideas. Before coming, I didn't even know that vegetables, milk, and coconut water could be freeze-dried — I came specifically to freeze-dry pineapple and mango."
"But when I walked in, it's a big area — a very big area. I realized almost anything can be freeze-dried here. I think Kemolo is one of the world's largest manufacturers of freeze-dry machines. They have a very impressive factory, and the equipment I saw inside is fantastic. Hopefully next year we will establish a factory in Bangladesh. Best of luck to Kemolo."
— Guest from Bangladesh
Prior to the visit, the partner's project brief centered on tropical fruit processing. The on-site demonstrations — spanning vegetable lyophilization, dairy powder processing, and coconut-water freeze-drying — have expanded the product roadmap, opening opportunities in Bangladeshi coconut-water powder, dairy ingredients, and ready-to-eat vegetable supply chains, in addition to the core pineapple and mango lines.
The guest's assessment of Kemolo's manufacturing footprint as "one of the world's largest" reflects the scale of the production floor, in-house machining capability, and the breadth of standard and custom freeze-dryer configurations on display — from pilot-scale R&D units to full production lines for food, nutraceutical, and pet-food applications.
Kemolo and the Bangladesh partner will now proceed toward final specification, process-parameter validation for pineapple and mango, and project engineering for the planned 2027 launch of the Bangladesh freeze-drying facility.
